2022-03-17 12:28:59

Each part of the body has its own important place. Our feet are also included in these organs which help the body to handle the weight of the whole body, walk and run. Due to these daily activities, many times the legs start to hurt due to sitting, moving and working for many hours. In some circumstances, this pain increases so much that it is very difficult to tolerate it. Usually, the main reason for pain in the legs is muscle fatigue. Apart from this, sometimes the problem of foot pain also starts due to a lack of nutrients in the body.

What is Foot Pain?

Before knowing about foot pain, it is important to understand what is pain? Basically, pain is a signal sent by the nervous system to the brain which tells the person that something is not right in the body. During this, the person feels a burning, prickling, cramping and tingling condition in the pain-affected area. On this basis, pain in the feet means that there is such a condition of tension, pressure and tingling in the muscles of the feet due to which the person has trouble walking.

Types of Foot Pain

Neurological Pain-

Pain in the legs due to disease or damage related to the nervous system is called neurological pain. Apart from this, pain in the legs is caused by damage to the sciatic nerve (the longest nerve in the body, which runs through the spine to the legs) and other nerves. It is also included in the category of neurological pain.

Vascular pain is the pain caused due to deep vein thrombosis (clotting of blood in the veins) and peripheral artery disease (stopping blood flow due to dilation of the veins). Pain in the legs due to problems related to the arteries is also included in this type.

Home remedies for Foot Pain

Rock salt concoction-

Rock salt works by regulating the nervous signals and relaxes the muscles. For this, take lukewarm water in a bucket and add one to two teaspoons of rock salt to it. Now keep the feet in this water for some time. By doing this you will get relief from foot pain.

Massage-

Pain in the feet starts when the muscles of the feet are tense or tired. In such a situation, foot massage proves to be a comfortable option that gives instant effect. Mustard oil can also be used directly for massage or by cooking oregano and garlic in it.

Use of turmeric-

Turmeric is rich in many medicinal properties. Therefore, mixing one teaspoon of turmeric powder in a glass of milk and drinking it in the morning and evening provides relief in foot and knee pain. Apart from this, mixing two spoons of turmeric in sesame oil and applying the prepared paste on the feet for half an hour also provides relief in pain.

Use of cloves-

Clove is very beneficial in tooth and gum pain, knee and foot pain. For this, massage the feet lightly with clove powder or clove oil on the painful area.

Use of Fenugreek-

The use of fenugreek seeds is effective for the pain of knees and feet. It is analgesic and anti-inflammatory like a pain pill. Therefore, after eating half to one spoonful of fenugreek powder in the morning and evening, drinking warm water provides relief in knee and foot pain.

Use of Eucalyptus Oil-

Eucalyptus oil proves to be helpful in reducing neuralgia. Smelling this oil or mixing it with any other oil gives relief in pain.

Ice training-

Foot pain can also be relieved by the use of ice. To use, make a bundle by keeping 2-3 pieces of ice in a cloth. Now massaging the feet with this bundle gives relief in pain.

Slow breathing exercise-

According to research conducted by NCBI, breathing exercises help in getting rid of pain in the hands, legs and nerves because this exercise works to improve the autonomic function (related to the nervous system) due to which the pain of hands and feet gets relief.

When to go to the Doctor?

According to experts, adopt home remedies for pain in the feet and knees but if there is no proper benefit from them, go to the doctor without delay. Apart from this, if the pain is due to a fracture or if the pain is accompanied by swelling, redness, fever and weight loss, then see an orthopaedic doctor immediately.
