Heatstroke- Causes, Symptoms and Home remedies

During summer, people have to face all kinds of problems- Heatstroke is also one of those problems. This problem is caused by rising temperature due to which people find it very difficult to get out of the house because these days very strong hot winds blow in the afternoon. Young children are the most sensitive to this. People with good immunity can tolerate these hot winds and temperatures but people who have weak immunity are not able to tolerate these hot winds. As a result, they fall ill.
Causes of Heatstroke
Working in harsh or bright sunlight.
Travelling to or living in a place with very high temperatures.
Lack of water in the body.
Going to crowded and hot areas.
Wearing excessive clothes during the hot summer days.
Consuming alcohol in excess.
Going near a big fire etc.
Symptoms of Heatstroke
Overheating or increased temperature of the body.
Pulse intensification.
Irritability in behaviour.
Pain in half head.
Being in a state of delusion or confusion.
Feeling of weakness.
Loss of mental balance.
Dry, red or scaly skin etc.
Effective home remedies for Heatstroke
Always keep in mind that do not give any liquids immediately to a person who has fainted due to heatstroke. Rather take him to a cool place. Also, to avoid heatstroke, take the help of the following home remedies.
Sandalwood powder-
Sandalwood has a cooling effect. Therefore, it works by reducing the temperature of the body, keeping it cool. For use, mix 3 to 4 spoons of sandalwood powder with a little water and make a paste. Then apply this paste on the forehead and chest and leave it for some time. After some time wash the coated area with cold water. By doing this the body gets relief from the heat.
Bathing with cold water-
The person who goes outside the house and does more laborious and hectic work should take bath with cold water to avoid heatstroke because the cold water helps to reduce the body temperature and protect the body from heatstroke.
Aam Panna-
Aam Panna acts as a tonic in case of heatstroke. It is prepared from raw mango and some spices (cumin, fennel, black pepper and black salt etc.). Its taste is sour-sweet. It helps to keep the body cool and provides energy and electrolytes. Therefore, it is very good to consume it in case of heatstroke.
Buttermilk-
Buttermilk works to keep the body hydrated and cool because it contains elements like proteins, vitamins, minerals and probiotics which helps to replenish the essential elements in the body. Therefore, in case of heatstroke, add a glass of water, a pinch of salt and a pinch of cumin powder to four spoons of curd, mix it well and consume one to two glasses of this drink daily. This gives a person relief from heatstroke.
Tamarind juice-
Tamarind fulfils the deficiency of essential nutrients and electrolytes in the body during dehydration due to which the body temperature remains normal. Therefore, it is good to use tamarind as a home remedy in case of heatstroke. For use, boil tamarind, extract the liquid from it and add a small amount of sugar or honey to it. Consume this herbal drink when it is cold. By doing this, heatstroke can be avoided.
Aloe vera-
Aloe vera works by keeping the body cool, eliminating the symptoms of heatstroke because it contains a high amount of vitamins and minerals. These naturally increase the body's ability to fight external changes and stimulate the body's defence mechanisms. Apart from this, aloe vera also proves helpful in stabilizing various systems of the body. Therefore, apply a paste of aloe vera gel on the body or consume aloe vera juice for use.
Onion juice-
Onion juice and paste are very popular remedies for heat stroke which helps in the relaxation of the body by eliminating the symptoms of heatstroke. Onion juice can be used in two ways in case of heatstroke. First- Apply onion juice behind the ears, on the chest and soles of the feet. Second- When the symptoms of heatstroke start to disappear from the body, take one spoon of onion juice mixed with one spoon of honey. It can also be consumed twice a day due to which the symptoms of heatstroke end more quickly.
Apple Cider Vinegar-
Many types of minerals and vitamins are present in Apple Cider Vinegar which work to overcome the lack of electrolytes in the body. Therefore, it is good to consume apple cider vinegar in case of heatstroke. For consumption, add a spoonful of apple cider vinegar to a glass of cold or plain water and mix it well. Then consume it. By doing this, the symptoms of heatstroke get relief.
