Vidarikand is an herb that has many medicinal properties. It has been used for centuries to get rid of diseases and weakness. What is Vidarikand?
Vidarikand is a perennial medicinal plant found in the form of a vine or shrub whose botanical name is Pueraria tuberosa. It is also known as Indian Kudzu. Its creeper is spreading and bushy. It has multiple roots under one vine. Its fruits are attached to the roots of Vidarikand, which are 1 to 2 feet long and 1 foot thick. The peel of its fruit is light brown in colour, and the inner part is white in color. Its fruit is similar to liquorice in taste and shape. That's why it is also called Swadukand. Its new fruits are sold in the market under the name of Sural. Its creeper is very dear to the horse; that is why this herb is also known as Gaj Vajipriya. Mostly this herb is found on the banks of rivers and streams and at an altitude of about 1300 m in the lower mountains of the Himalayas.
Importance of Vidarikand in Ayurveda
In Ayurveda, the tuber of this herb is mostly used to increase immunity and is also beneficial as a health tonic. Apart from this, Vidarikand is used as a fertility tonic for women to treat menstrual problems, menopause, and uterine weakness. Due to the cool nature of Vidarikand, it is beneficial for burning sensations in the body, excessive heat, and bleeding disorders. This herb is also an Aphrodisiac. The nutritious elements present in it help in removing physical and mental weakness and increase the milk of the mother. The fruits or tubers of Vidarikand are also used for chest pain, rheumatism, and fever.
Benefits of Vidarikand
Beneficial in menstrual disorders:
Vidarikand is used in the treatment of menstrual disorders in women. It acts as a tonic for the uterine muscles and endometrium. Taking Vidarikand's powder is beneficial for the problem of excessive bleeding during menstruation. Its use makes menstruation regular and also reduces the pain during menstruation.
Beneficial for lactating mothers:
Consumption of Vidarikand churna is beneficial in increasing breast milk. For this, take Vidarikand powder with milk. Apart from this, taking the root of Vidarikand and grinding it with milk helps in keeping milk tasty and nutritious.
For increasing stamina:
Consumption of Vidarikand is also very beneficial for people who lack sexual stamina. For this, roast the powder of Vidarikand in ghee and consume it daily with milk. This benefits premature ejaculation, lack of semen, and mental weakness. Apart from this, consuming Vidarikand powder, ghee, and honey mixed with Vidarikand swaras increases the power of a person. Along with this, it also increases semen.
Effective in anemia:
Vidarikand is beneficial in anaemia, i.e., lack of blood in the body. For this, take the powder of Vidarikand with milk. This helps in the process of blood formation in the body. As a result, it helps reduce physical weakness. Apart from this, eating the herb of Vidarikand purifies the blood, which helps to remove blood disorders.
Beneficial for weak children:
Vidarikand is a beneficial medicine for physically weak children. It has a positive effect on the weakness of children. For this, giving one gram of Vidarikand powder with dry grapes daily strengthens the body of children. Apart from this, taking 1 gram of Vidarikand powder with honey in the morning and evening ends the weakness of children.

People go through problems like burning, pain, or frequent urination while urinating. Vidarikand works to provide relief from these problems. Taking the powder of the root of Vidarikand mixed with honey helps to get rid of these problems.
