Be it Biryani, Kheer, Sweets or any other dish to eat! Cardamom is used in all to enhance the aroma and taste. Cardamom is mostly used as a spice and mouth freshener. It is also used to enhance the aroma of tea but the properties of cardamom are not limited only to enhance the aroma of dishes or remove bad breath. Apart from this, cardamom is also very effective in the treatment of cold-cough, vomiting, digestive and urinary problems etc.

 

Types of Cardamom

There are two types of cardamom- small cardamom and big cardamom. Small cardamom is used to remove bad breath, sweets, tea, kheer and other dishes while large cardamom is used as a spice. There is a difference in colour, taste and size in both small and large cardamom where small cardamom is green in colour and the colour of big cardamom is black. On the basis of their colours, in some places, people also know them as black cardamom and green cardamom.

Nutrients like calcium, magnesium, iron, carbohydrates, dietary fibres, potassium, and phosphorus are found in green cardamom. Apart from these, many such nutrients are present in cardamom, which are very beneficial for health.

 

Benefits of Small cardamom

In such a situation, the use of green cardamom can get rid of the problem of constipation and acidity because small cardamom has anti-inflammatory effects and stomachic (promotes appetite and improves digestion) properties which work to keep the digestive system healthy and reduce stomach irritation due to which it provides relief in acidity, indigestion, constipation and other stomach related problems.

Side effects of green cardamom
