Karkatshringi, also known as Gall Plant, has been described in ancient texts of Ayurveda. It is also called Kakdasingi in common parlance. Karkatshringi holds special importance among medicinal herbs, and has been used in Ayurvedic medicine since ancient times for the prevention of many diseases.
Due to its properties, doctors use it as a medicine. This natural herb works to reduce colds, respiratory and stomach related problems. Its botanical name is Pistacia chinensis.

Consuming a decoction made from the bark of the plant of Karkatshringi on an empty stomach in the morning and mixing the powder of bark of the plant and honey in equal quantity with lukewarm water before sleeping at night ends the problem of cough.
Beneficial in respiratory problems-
Karkatshringi is used medicinally to cure asthma, reduce throat and respiratory problems. It also acts as an expectorant (helps in clearing mucus from the respiratory tract). Mixing nutmeg powder in 1-2 grams of Karkatshringi powder and taking it with honey provides relief in respiratory problems.
Useful for kids-
Consumption of karkatshringi helps in getting rid of many diseases among children. According to Ayurveda medicine, in young children, Kapha dosha is prevalent and affects the body. Therefore, to avoid all these diseases, give half a teaspoon (1g-1.5g) bark powder of Karkatshringi and half a teaspoon of Pippali's powder mixed with lukewarm water every morning on an empty stomach.This helps to balance the kapha and helps eliminate diseases in children.
