Gudmar (Gymnema Sylvestre)

Gudmar has anti-atherosclerotic properties, which prevent atherosclerotic plaque formation in the arteries. It is helpful in lowering blood sugar levels. Consumption of Gudmar is considered very beneficial in type 2 diabetes and it helps to reduce the craving for sweets. This controls hyperglycemia in individuals with diabetes.

Bitter gourd (Momordica charantia)

Bitter gourd regulates blood sugar levels in both type- I and type- II diabetes. Bitter gourd contains several phytochemicals, three of which (charantin, vicine, polypeptide-P) are known to be extremely useful in reducing blood sugar level in diabetes. Bitter gourd is rich in antioxidants and vitamins-A and C, which help to detoxify the body. Bitter gourd also strengthens the immune system and prevents allergies and infections.

Banaba (Lagerstroemia speciosa)

Banaba is a medium-sized tree. Its leaves have been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries to treat diabetes. In addition to anti-diabetic properties, Banaba provides health benefits such as antioxidants, cholesterol-lowering, and anti-obesity effects. Its leaves contain more than 40 beneficial compounds, of which corosolic acid and ellagic acid are the major ones. These leaves are known for their ability to lower blood sugar levels. This plant is also known as Jarul or Pride of India.

Indian Gooseberry (Phyllanthus emblica)

Indian gooseberry plays an important role in controlling diabetes. It is rich in vitamin C, which improves immunity in diabetic patients. Consuming juice of Indian gooseberries provides special benefits in controlling blood sugar levels. It is also beneficial in improving blood circulation. Indian gooseberry also provides benefit in skin related problems that occur in diabetic patients.

Cinnamon (Cinnamomum Verum)

Cinnamon is considered to be the best for treating diabetes because it contains plenty of antioxidants, which help in controlling blood sugar levels. Manjistha (Rubia cordifolia)

Manjistha has anti-diabetic properties, which help in controlling diabetes. Drinking Manjistha's Kadha provides immense relief in diabetes. The properties found in it control the sugar level. Apart from this, Manjistha has anti-viral, anti-cancerous, anti-inflammatory properties, which are beneficial in increasing the immunity of the body.

Malabar Plum (Syzygium cumini)

Malabar Plum is a panacea for treating diabetes. The phytoconstituent jamboline present in it prevents the starch ingested with food from turning into sugar, which keeps the sugar level in the blood normal. Apart from this, vitamins-A, B, C, malic acid, gallic acid, oxalic acid, and tannin are found in malabar plum. Consumption of seeds of malabar plum is very beneficial when the sugar is excreted in the urine.

Tea tree leaves (Melaleuca alternifolia)
